What are the signs of an aging roof? If your shingles are past their lifetime, or if they are discolored or rippling, you may be in need of roof repair or replacement. It is important to have your roof in good shape going into the winter months. The stress of ice and snow on a roof in need of repair can create leaks and other undesirable effects. It is best to get these repairs done now before they become more costly.
How do we replace a roof? We strip the roof down to the plywood and make sure there is no damage. If there is any damage it is repaired before the shingling starts. We then use an underlayment to protect from water getting up under the shingle when ice dams occur. We primarily use Architectural Shingles made by CertainTeed. These shingles come in a variety of textures, colors and styles. Many have a lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects.
